A motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a minibus which blocked the A27 this morning.
As previously reported, there were serious traffic delays this morning as reports came in of an accident on the A27.
Sussex Police attended the scene and have issued a statement.
It said: “At 6.49am on Wednesday (3 August) police were called to the A27 eastbound on its approach to the Bognor Bridge roundabout, Chichester, where a motorcyclist and a minibus had been in collision.
“The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. No other injuries were reported.
“Eastbound lanes on the dual carriageway were closed until 8.20am while the scene was cleared, unfortunately resulting in long traffic queues. Police wish to thank drivers for their patience.”
A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said they attended the scene at 6.55am this morning and sent one ambulance.
The motorcyclist, which the ambulance service said was a man in his thirties, suffered some injuries including arm and leg pain.
They added that he was treated at the scene before being taken to St Richard’s Hopsital, and was fully conscious during the journey.
Sussex Police asked anyone who saw what happened to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 200 of 03/08.
