TRAVEL: '˜Severe' delays as A283 closed due to accident

A collision involving a car and a motorbike has lead to the A283 being blocked in Fittleworth, police have confirmed.

Emergency services are still at the scene of the incident between the B2138 Lower Street junction and the Hesworth Common junction after a call out at 3.45pm, police said.

A police spokesperson said the motorcylist had suffered a suspected fractured wrist.

Traffic reports indicate ‘severe’ delays in both directions around the area.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.
