MORE than 60 members of the Fernhurst Good Companions gathered for Christmas lunch in the village hall cooked by the lunch club chef Jill Morris and served by a team of volunteers who also normally help at the Lunch Club,

Afterwards carol singing led by the club leader Rosemary Foster with Judith Foster and Jenny Short was accompanied on the piano by Joanna Smith.

As they left everyone was presented with biscuits as a present and many were carrying prizes from the raffle.

The first meeting of the New Year is on January 14 at 2.30pm when all who may have retired are welcome to come.

The subscription for a year of talks, teas, ploughman’s lunches, outings, garden visits and occasional ‘specials’ is £5.

Anyone who would more information is invited to go along to a meting or ring the leader on 01428 653266. Members are welcome from any village that does not have a similar club.
