At 1.30pm on Monday a Mercedes travelling from the Funtington direction veered into the path of an oncoming vehicle, according to an eye witness.

Two police vehicles and two paramedic vehicles attended the scene and the B2146 was blocked for some time.

Onlooker Tony Kerr said: “There have been numerous accidents – including a fatality – along the stretch of road in Aldsworth, which is used as a “rat run” between Chichester and Havant.”

Police have confirmed there were no serious injuries and recovery work was complete by around 4pm.
