Uganda fundraising day

A DAY of fundraising activities for the Good Samaritan Trust, Uganda, will be held in Beulah Baptist Church on Saturday, May 16.

From 3pm-5pm there will be an open afternoon in the Clifford Hall, and the opportunity to meet Enid, from the Buddo community in Uganda, which is supported by the trust.

Tea and cakes will be served, and children can have their faces painted. There will be a studio photo corner and a children's drawing competition, as well as a tombola.

A gospel choir concert takes place from 7.15pm with free admission, in the main building of the church on Buckhurst Road.

Refreshments will be offered in the interval, and a retiring offering will be taken.

Proceeds support orphaned children in Africa.

The Good Samaritan Trust supports a committee of Ugandans set on improving the lives of their local, rural community of Buddo, near Kampala, the capital of Uganda.

A health centre offers community services, residential care, and support for children orphaned by AIDS.

The trust has strong links with Bexhill; three of the six trustees live in the town.
