UPDATE: A272 shut at Petworth after serious accident
A serious accident closed part of the A272 this afternoon and evening (Thursday February 18).
The A272 in Petworth was shut in both directions around the Kingspit Lane junction, because of the incident which reports say involved two vehicles.
The accident happened around 3.20pm.
The area has now been cleared, though, and road re-opened.
