UPDATE: Hospital trust ‘disappointed’ with Bupa contract

THE chief executive of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has expressed her ‘disappointment’ at a £235m contract for orthopaedic services being awarded to Bupa.

“We are very disappointed with this decision. Our staff have consistently delivered excellent care to patients and I am very proud of the MSK services we as a trust deliver.

“The interests of our patients and staff remain paramount and, to understand the full impact of this change, we are working with Coastal West Sussex CCG, who told us this week that BUPA, in consortium with Central Surrey Health, are due to be awarded the contract from January 1, 2015.”
