UPDATE: Motorcyclist taken to hospital after Funtington collision

A man has been taken to hospital following a collision in Funtington this evening.

Police, ambulance crews and firefighters were called to the scene at the junction of Common Road and Cheesemans Lane in Funtington at 4.30pm today (October 13).

A man has been taken to hospital with ‘serious but not life threatening injuries’.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “At 4.30pm on Tuesday (October 13) a motor cycle and a car collided in Common Road at the junction with Cheesemans Lane.

“The man riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

“The two people in the car were unhurt.

“No further information is available at present.”

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said fire crews from Chichester and Havant were called to the incident and Common Road was closed in both directions while crews made the scene safe.

The road reopened at 6pm.
