Police in Chichester are appealing for information after a man exposed himself to a woman near Bishop Luffa School.

Around 2.10pm on Wednesday (May 20) the 21-year-old woman was walking along Westgate, Chichester, away from the city, when the man, described as white, in his mid-forties, about 5’10”, of stocky build, with short blond hair, wearing sunglasses, a black t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms, exposed himself to her.

PC Jill Peacock said: “This was clearly a distressing incident for the woman and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the man around this time. Anyone with any information should contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call us on 101, quoting serial 923 of 20/5.”

On the day of the incident the school on Bishop Luffa Close, sent a letter to parents written from Mrs Weaden, director of pupil welfare.

The letter reads: “Dear parent, please be aware of an incident which occurred just before the end of school.

“A man exposed himself to a member of the public near the mini roundabout on the junction of Sherborne Road and Westgate.

“The incident has been reported to the police but if your child walks/cycles to school, the advice is to ensure they do so with a friend and remain vigilant.”
