IT was a case of now you see it - now you don’t - as a winter wonderland came and went across the Midhurst and Petworth area this morning (Tuesday, February 3).
Dog walkers on Woolbeding Common and those going to work in the Midhurst area were suddenly caught in a flurry of snow.
There were several collisions as the ice took its toll on side roads, but West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said there had been no weather related call outs in the area.
The Met Office is warning of further showers of sleet and snow which could hit the area later today (Tuesday, February 3) and tomorrow giving icy stretches of road on untreated surfaces.
More snow is possible tonight and motorists are warned to take extra take.
