Walberton nursing home residents face uncertain future
Residents living in a Walberton nursing home could be at risk of becoming homeless.
Southern Cross Healthcare Ltd, the owner of Walberton Place Nursing Home, in Yapton Lane, made a statement on Monday (July 11) saying it would be offloading all 750 of its home and all of its landlords would be severing ties with the healthcare provider.
It is uncertain whether the home – with 34 beds and 51 members of staff – will be saved if its landlord Prestige Care of Stockton-on-Tees does not back it.
A spokesman for Southern Cross said she could not discuss individual homes and could not confirm how Walberton Place would be affected by the company’s decision.
