Temperatures were set to reach 28 degrees in West Wittering.

Under the new system in place at the beach since it reopened, visitors must book in advance in order to secure a parking space at the beach car park.

Anyone without a ticket should not travel to the beach, as there is no other parking in the area.

A spokesperson for the West Wittering Estate said: “Despite our best efforts, people are still travelling down for a day at West Wittering Beach without a ticket.
