NOT content with simply playing sport as a hobby, eight-year-old Lille-Beau Thorpe from Easebourne is now taking on the rest of world to be crowned golfing champion.

Lille-Beau has now won the Wee Wonders grand final at St Andrews in Scotland.

This follows a hugely successful year for the young champ, who came sixth in the European championships in May and won her age group for the Parent/Child World Championships in North Carolina alongside granddad Steve White, in July.

At the beginning of August, she played three rounds at Pinehurst on the Pine Needles course and came an impressive ninth over the three days.

This gives Lille-Beau ‘green status’ in the US Kids Golf which allows her to play in major events over the coming year.
