Taking advantage of the brand new coaching parking spaces made available just last week, this coach driver has brought the first tourists back to the shops, restaurants and cafes.

It was a four year fight for town councillor Steve Morley when he embarked on the fight for coach parking spaces after they were lost with the development of the new Grange Leisure Centre and the redesign of the car park.

Last month his battle ended in victory when he told fellow town councillors he had finally reached an agreement to provide two coach parking spaces at the bus interchange at the bottom of North Street.

Traders noticed the difference immediately when coach parking was lost, said Mr Morley who began the laborious process of bringing together all the parties necessary to reach a new agreement at the bus interchange, including Chichester District Council and Stagecoach.

He said he hoped the new spaces would be quickly advertised among coach drives and would being back a ‘much needed boost to the economy of the town and add to the viability and vitality of our cafes, cars, restaurants, and shops’.
