Great British Spring Clean: As part of this year's Great British Spring Clean, the Parish Council have organised a Westfield Spring Tidy tomorrow, Saturday, March 4 from 10 to12pm, starting at the Parish Hall. Hi-Viz jackets, litter pickers, black sacks and gloves will be available, and free refreshments provided. Volunteers old and new and all ages are welcome. Westfield Cricket Club: are holding a Quiz Evening at The New Inn on Sunday, March 5 at 6pm for 6.30pm start. This is for teams of up to six people, and admission is £5 per person. Call 01424 752800 to book your team.

The Friendship Club: meets on Monday, March 6 in the New Inn from 2 - 3.30 pm. Members play bingo and whist with a cup of tea and biscuits during the afternoon. Several outings are arranged during the year. The yearly subscription is £5, and then the cost is only 10p each meeting. New members are always welcome; contact Jean Hobson on 01424 753095.

Westfield Women’s Institute: meets in the Parish Hall next Friday, March 10 at 2.15 pm, when Dr Barry Yates will be talking about the ‘Wildlife of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve’. The competition is spring flowers, preferably wild. New members are always welcome. Contact the W.I. President Mrs Val Walkinshaw on 07927 403200 for more information.

Westfield Scout Group: holds a Jumble Sale at 2.30pm in the Community Hall next Saturday, March 11, so pop in to pick up a bargain. Donations of jumble gratefully received at the hall from 1.30pm, but no large or electrical items, please. Admission is 50p (children free) and refreshments will be available.

Westfield Scout Group: is also organising another of its popular Murder Mystery Evenings on Saturday, March 18 at 7pm for 7.30pm. The Playden Murder Mystery Players will be making a welcome return visit to entertain and challenge teams of about 6 people. Tickets will be available from Scouts, Archers or ring 01424 753684 or 754080.
