THE Wey and Arun Canal Trust is calling on canoeists, kayakers and small boat owners to join a flotilla exploring the River Arun between Pulborough and Pallingham.

The event on Sunday, April 19, is to ensure the navigation rights on the river are not lost. It is a key feature in the trust’s quest
to restore the canal’s link to the Arun.

“We would like to involve as many small craft enthusiasts as possible and make it a big, colourful occasion,” said trust chairman Schupke. “Our intention is to ensure there will be no legal hold-ups in enabling boats to use the Arun to travel to and from the canal when the link is eventually restored.”

Those who would like to join the rally can download applications at www.weyandarun.co.uk

They can also request a form by calling trust press officer Rob Searle on 01276 857914 or by emailing rob_searle@weyandarun.co.uk
