A SPRINGTIME challenge in aid of the children’s charity Dreams Come True has been issued in good time for would-be participants to prepare for it.
The walking experiences company, b-footloose, is organising ‘A Downs Dash’, walking 40 miles of the South Downs Way over a weekend in early May.
The walk starts at Winchester on Saturday, May 5 and ends the following day in Midhurst.
The overnight stop will be at the Sustainability Centre near East Meon and will include an evening meal.
A non-refundable registration fee of £50 is required and participants are asked to pledge they will each raise at least £100 in sponsorship.
The event will be repeated over the weekend of June 30/July 1. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application form.
For the more ambitious, again for Dreams Come True and in conjunction with b-footloose, a hiking challenge covering all 100 miles of the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne is being organised for June 1-5.
Registration costs £100 and the minimum sponsorship target per walker is set at £500.
