Woman dies in A259 crash

A 29-year-old woman has died after a car left the A259 and went into a ditch.

A police spokesman said the driver at the Yapton Road junction, Climping, at about 5.30pm last night (February 4).

Police said: “Sadly the driver and sole occupant of the car, a 29-year-old woman from Climping, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.”

She was the only one in the silver Volkswagen Beetle.

There were no other reported injuries and no other vehicle was involved.

Witnesses were asked to call Sussex Police on 101 and quote Operation Gryphus.
