Worst of the West Sussex snow could only last a day

According to weather forecasts the worst of the snowy conditions will be over by the end of today.

Temperatures plummeted to -4 degrees celsius last night and brought with it around eight inches of snow in some areas of the district.

Chichester was a scene of calm this morning with barely a car in sight in the normal rush hour traffic.

Light snow is expected to continue to fall throughout the day, and into the night, and temperatures expected to reach lows of -6 degrees celsius by tomorrow morning (Friday, December 3).

Heavy fog is forecast for the majority of tomorrow and by the weekend temperatures are thought to be around 9 degrees celsius.
