YOUNGSTERS from Bognor were among the 200 young people from across Sussex who participated in a unique football tournament held in Brighton’s Preston Park on Friday, July 24.

As past of an initiative to help reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviour, the Regional Summer Kicks tournament was run by Albion in the Community (AITC) in partnership with American Express.

Ian Wilkins, Bognor coach, said: “This is the second year we’ve brought together youngsters from all of our Kicks projects across Sussex.

“It’s great to see them interacting so positively with each other in an event of this scale.”

Martin Schooley, inclusion manager at AITC, said: “The Kicks programme is all about giving youngsters the chance to play sport in a supportive, inclusive environment and promoting the values of respect and understanding – we aim to build safer, stronger communities.”
