Fight to save care home highlights NHS focus on money

I am writing regarding the ongoing fight to keep The Cherries Respite Home open.

It is a sad indictment of this day and age that large institutions such as the NHS and social services put monetary considerations above the health and wellbeing of the children who so desperately need the respite that these homes give.

Trying to close something that works so well just makes no sense to us at all, but then who are we?

Just the parents, grandparents, families and carers who actually look after these children 24 hours a day, seven days a week, not people sitting behind desks who have no clue what it means to look after our children or how much even one night of respite away from the home means to the other family members.

Some of these children have so little in life, but enjoy their visits to The Cherries, so why should that be taken away?

I hope with all my heart some way is found to keep The Cherries open for these families, they deserve this and so much more.
