Chichester District Council should think again with regard to refusal of planning application for a Wagamama restaurant in South Street, Chichester, on the grounds of undermining ‘the vitality and viability of the city centre’.
I believe the opposite is true.
At Gunwharf Quays the Wagamama complements the other restaurants offering an alternative to the pasta/pizza/chips on offer. There are numerous restaurants in Chichester, most serving the traditional pizza/ pasta, but more variety would be a good thing for Chichester and bring in more people who will then spend their money in the shops.
We don’t need more empty retail units.
Until that time we will continue to eat at the Wagamama at Gunwharf Quays... And shop there too!
