Greggs has a secret menu of things you can only get in some parts of the country - here’s the full list

With Greggs you know what you are getting. The reliable bakery chain is a go-to spot for lunches for people all over the UK.

The chain’s staples - the steak and chicken bakes, vegan and non-vegan sausage rolls and doughnuts - are synonymous with the much-loved brand.

But the nation’s favourite bakery’s offerings include much more than just that, and what is available in various parts of the country differs far more than you may think.

Some bakery items you might take for granted in the place where you live are completely unavailable in other locations.

Menu designed to cater for regional tastes

This is because Greggs has a regional menu designed to cater for the specific tastes of customers in different parts of the country.

Those from Yorkshire and the North East might be partial to a corned beef bake, while in Scotland you might go for a Scotch Pie and people in the South East might fancy a London Cheesecake.

And these make up just a selection of the varied menu that requires some travel if you want to try it all.

A spokesperson for Greggs explained why these items aren't sold everywhere.

He said: "Historically our regional bakeries had responsibility for making their own products which resulted in some local Greggs delicacies.

"Some of these were so popular that as the business has grown, we are still selling them today.

"Our product range reflects the preference of our customers, so sometimes a small percentage of the products in your local shop will be unique to your area and will be decided on to reflect local tastes and demand."
