Andrews: Gargan's the key

WORTHING Football Club captain Ben Andrews cannot wait for Saturday's home FA Cup tie with Walton & Hersham.

He said: "Playing in the FA Cup every season is great for the players and great for the club, with the prize money.

"To play a team from our league at home makes it possible to get through, although anything can happen in the FA Cup.

"As a kid, you always dream about playing in an FA Cup final at Wembley and to play in the FA Cup every year is special."

So far, Worthing have progressed in the FA Cup with replay wins over Godalming Town and Croydon, and Andrews knows it will be a tough game against Walton, who were relegated with Rebels from the Ryman Premier Division to Division 1 South last year.

He said: "They are always a big, strong, physical side and it will be really tough."

On his side's key players ahead of Saturday, Andrews said: "The two central midfielders will be key and also Sam Gargan in attack.

"Sam gives us something slightly different. I was up front last year, and although I'm quite good in the air and strong, I've not got pace like Sam has.

"He's also got a good footballing brain, works really hard, has a superb attitude and is a really nice lad.

"He's been excellent for us."
