BARKERS (Tarring) Worthing Thunder continued its unbeaten start to the season with contrasting wins against University of West Anglia Fury and the Sheffield Arrows.

Saturday saw the Fury make the journey down to Sussex to a venue it had never won at, knowing it had already been beaten by 30 at home to the Thunder in a National Trophy Pool match.

Despite that, Fury came out all guns blazing to surprise Thunder and led 25-16 at the first break, Charles Whitfield leading the way with 11, which were to be his only points of the night.

With head coach Gary Smith missing through illness, assistant coach Rob Newson rallied the troops in the break and James Mooney gave the home team the lead with the first of his three three-pointers in the quarter at 30-28.

Thunder captain James Brame sparked off an 11-2 run that saw the home team 41-31 up just before the half-time interval.

The second half saw Thunder continue to increase its advantage, and when Okolie Ugbana hit one of his rare three-pointers the score was 71-46.
