Four Tone Zoners undertook the Birmingham Canal marathon, a race of unparallelled beauty and surprisingly undulating. They were Chris Gallagher, Gary Pidgeon, Ian Bayley and Colin Hiscock. The Purbeck Marathon was run by Paul Coe in 4.44.42 and Simon Bodsworth in 5.15.11.

Simon Gill came an amazing 199th at the Berlin Marathon from a field of 40,000 – other Tone Zoners that undertook the race were Mark Williamson (3.48.02), Jackie Williamson (4.20.30) and Grace Natoli (4.35.38).
