One of the organisers, Mark Gillen, said the joint venture would promote the three codes of angling – sea, freshwater and game.

“We really do have some terrific fishing on offer in our part of the world. Obviously the sea is right on our doorstep, while a five to ten-minute drive from Bognor you’ve got the Chichester Canal system and some brilliant lakes.

“The West Kent & Sussex Sea Fishing Club and Bognor Regis Amateur Angling Society are two local sea fishing clubs

who hope to get more local people into the sport.

“One of the largest coarse fishing clubs in our area, the Petworth & Bognor club, will also be in attendance to help spread the word on how good their club waters are to fish, including ponds, rivers and lakes.

“Finally Steve Batten will demonstrating some of his fly-tying and the fine art of his fly-casting.

“On our two stands at the fair, we will be displaying basic rod tackle and rig set ups which we hope will help new and even more experienced anglers enjoy their sport more as well as maybe catching a few more fish too.”
