Bognor 'Flyers celebrate more trampoline triumphs

SEVENTEEN Dragonflyers trampolinists were among more than 400 competitors who participated at the Milton Keynes regional national development competition.

Sensational performances secured national qualification scores and a place at regional finals for 16 members of the bognor-based group, with the 17th just 0.1 off the required score.

Isobel Holloway and Lani Smith (9/10yrs), Abagail Homes, Lucy hijmans, Rosie Budge, Sofija Kalnicenko (11/12yrs), Emily Rimmer, Toby Smith, Beth Moore, Alice Chapman (13-plus), Libby Morton, Izzy Hauxwell (11/14 yrs), Ellie Morton, Anya Johnston and Taylor Cleall (15/16yrs) have all earned the right to jump off for a place in the regional team at Alton in March.

The top 2two competitors per category will attend regional training and represent the southern region against the rest of Britain .

Milton Keynes also played host to the first range and conditioning testing for the sport, where Flyers also excelled.

Ellie Morton, Beth Moore and Taylor Cleall, senior club members and future coaches put all the clubs young performers through the mill before putting them forward for this – them with huge success, securing a 99 per cent pass rate.

Medals were achieved by Toby Smith gold; Anya Johnston gold; Izzy Hauxwell gold; Taylor Cleall silver; Libby Morton silver; Ellie Morton silver;

Lani smith silver; Rosie Budge silver; Alice Chapman bronze; Sofija Kalnicenko 4th; Libby Morton 5th.

The regional grades gained more silver wear for Flyers : Toby Smith (gold 13-plus F); Sofija Kalnicenko (gold), Izzy Hauxwell (silver) and Libby Morton (5th u15 D); Anya Johnstone (silver), Taylor Cleall (4th over-15D); Beth Moore (silver o-15F); Lana Collyer (bronze u15G); Lucy Hijmans (4th u13 G).

Both Smith children move up a grade – Toby to E and Lani to F – getting ever closer to that top grade D. Lucy Hijmans was just 0.1 off qualification to F.

All the medals – two gold, eight silver and two bronze – achieved in one day add up to another amazing performance from the Flyers. It would not be possible without the club’s volunteers, parents, officials and administrators.
