Bognor Prom 10k set to be a cracker
There are four days until the 2016 Bognor Prom 10k '“ and it's shaping up to be a cracking race.
The closing date for entries for the 22nd year of the event has passed and around 1,650 people have got their names down.
The runners will start in Silverston Avenue on Sunday (May 15) at 10.30am, set off by Amanda Newton, a local athlete who was badly injured in a cycle accident last year.
There are two junior fun runs along the prom before the main 10k and mums and dads can run with their little ones for free.
There are several teams running – including those from running clubs but also from workplaces and social clubs, many running for a charity or good cause.
Bognor’s Tone Zone Runners are set to be the biggest group entry and help run the event, while plenty of other Sussex clubs will have members running.
Organisers Bognor Hotham Rotary Club also use the event to boost charity.
This year’s charity partner is Stonepillow, who help homeless and vulnerable people in the area.
