The Fareham braveheart is set to be given a taste of the boxing big time when he fights at the O2 Arena in London.

Moore meets former foe, Yordan Vasilev, in a televised rematch after his defeat to the Bulgarian in 2013.

The 25-year-old, who had an unspectacular amateur career with Titchfield ABC, can scarcely believe he will be boxing at the 20,000-capacity venue in a contest to be broadcast to the country.

Moore said: ‘The O2 is right up there among the best venues in Britain.

‘It’s going to be massive to box there.

‘I’m used to boxing at leisure centres!

‘If you’d said I would box on the undercard of a David Haye show at the O2 as an amateur I wouldn’t have believed it.

‘It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So many fighters would love the chance I’m getting.

‘It’ll be nice to get some exposure. I believe I’ve earned that opportunity and I won’t be out of place.’

Moore’s last contest with Vasilev proved a barnstorming affair, before the lightweight was stopped in the ninth round. The 13-6-1 man is out to right that loss.

He said: ‘I’m not taking anything for granted

‘I think he’ll come to fight and have a go, but I’m older and more experienced now.

‘I’m just looking to put the loss right, really.

‘I know with my power I will catch him, and I won’t let him off the hook.

‘It may be the first round or later, but I’ll get him. I know I’ll get him at some point.’

Tonight’s show will be broadcast for free on Dave (Freeview channel 12, Sky channel 111, Virgin channel 128) from 8pm.
