Brendon's new outdoor arena

Brendon Horse and Rider Centre at Pyecombe now has the biggest outdoor arena in the south of England, with a 135 x 40 SoftTrack surace, complete with an underground watering system.

The new facility, which is also available for hire for those wanting to school and train their horses, has been in action since November.

Explained Valerie Light, who runs the centre with her husband Cyril and daughters Shirley and Caraleen: "It came about because of pleas for us to extend our season of competitions outdoors. The grass arena requires huge maintenance and Cyril decided that an all-weather surface was the way forward. It snowballed from there."
