Brothers reunited in bid for GB National Rally glory

West Sussex rally driver Shaun Martin and his brother Steven will be reunited again in the heat of competition rallying through the British Forests as they compete of the Wales Rally GB National Rally this weekend (Nov 13-14).

Shaun, from West Chiltington, and Cumbria-based Steve competed back on the Lombard RAC Rally in 1992, finishing the gruelling 1,500 mile event with a class award to their credit.

Eighteen years on, the brothers are returning to the event – the final round of the World Rally Championship – and will be tackling the National rally which follows on immediately after the international event

“We would have dearly loved to compete on the international rally, but it simply is unaffordable these days and the cost of preparing a rally car to international specification, and running costs is unachievable, but the National rally, running on six of the exact same stages as the international rally is the nearest thing!” said Shaun.

So this weekend sees the brothers in mid and South Wales, covering 69 stage miles and finishing in Cardiff on Sunday afternoon.

The brothers have thanked their supporters: Gibbons Accountants, Prestiegne Tyres, Phil Price Rally School, Lawson Training centre, Solar wood Renewable Energy and Morsons International.
