Chichester netballers launch exciting new season

Chichester Netball League's winter season began with four exciting games.

Ten teams have entered this season. Midhurst have entered two teams with the Midhurst Jets taking on the University’s Pink ladies.

Though it was the first time tthe Pink Ladies had played together they started to work as a team. Player of the match was Abbie Palmer from Pink Ladies. The Jets’ experience shone through to give them a 50-9 win.

Purple Dolphins took on uni team Spice Goals. This was another experienced team taking on players not yet used to each other and it ended 48-5 to the Dolphins.

Red Flames take on The College in possibly the most nail-biting game of the night - Red Flames were ahead 13-4 after the first quarter, but the College pulled it back to 17-13.

The College pulled ahead by one goal after the third quarter. A hard-fought last quarter resulted in a 23-23 draw.

Players of the match were C Paul from The College and Kate Holligon of Red Flames.

Blue Flames were facing Footloose, who led 9-6 at half-time and 13-12 after the third. Some amazing shots from Footloose gave them a 17-15 win.

Players of the match were Catherine Hutchin from Blue Flames for her incredible shooting and Michaela Roberts from Footloose for consistent good play.
