COOL DALGLEISH SLOTS HOME CRUCIAL PUTT

SUSSEX juniors finished a creditable fourth in the SE Foursomes at John 0' Gaunt, Bedford, last week.

Sussex finished the first day without any points and relegation was a serious prospect. On the second day, a 3-0 win against Bedfordshire and a half against Kent kept the Sussex squad safe.

On the last afternoon they faced an unbeaten Surrey team, boasting six internationals, and the Essex team with three internationals.

They beat Essex on the 15th and in the match against Surrey, Sussex halved , becoming the only county to take points off Surrey, thanks to Alistair Dalgleish of Haywards Heath, who holed his final put to gain the half.
