Cricketers to play for Sir Patrick Moore Cup at Selsey

Selsey Cricket Club again welcome the Thespian Thunderers to play for the Sir Patrick Moore Cup on a family say of fun this Sunday (May 8).

The fun starts at 12.30pm with the match under way at 1pm.

The Thespian Thunderers are a team of players from the world of showbusiness – the world’s premier actors’ cricket team.

Their captain is Peter Sandys-Clarke, who was in Indian Summers as Captain Roberts and played Edward Burne-Jones in the BBC2 series Desperate Romantics.

In theatre he has appeared in productions including The Letter, Jingo and Journey’s End.

The Thunderers have actors and directors involved in a dozen West End shows: The Woman In Black, Pygmalion, The 39 Steps, Yes Prime Minister and Buckley among them.

Apart from the match, there will be a hog roast and plenty more to eat and drink, a bouncy castle, a large picnic area, a craft area, glitter tattoos and a bar open all day.

Live music after the match, around 6pm, comes from a band called Repeat Offenders.

In the pavilion, the Sir Patrick Moore 3D exhibition will be open.
