More than 500 runs were smashed in Sunday’s 90-over game at home to Horsham’s conquerors Havant, with Josh Fleming’s side claiming victory with just two balls to spare.

Fleming won the toss and put the talented visitors into bat, and they amassed 275-7 from their 45 overs.

Andrew Gorvin top scored for Havant with an unbeaten 81, and made a century stand with captain Stuart Ransley, who added 56.

Indian all-rounder Rohit Jagota was then Roffey’s hero as he carried his bat for a stunning 149 not out which included 15 fours and three sixes.

Jagota and Matt Davies (59 runs from 53 balls) shared a crucial and fluent century stand for the fifth wicket, before Jagota smashed the winning runs in the final over.

The dramatic victory puts Roffey through to the national stage of the competition once again after similar success two seasons ago in reaching the quarter-finals.

The draw for the last 16 is yet to take place, with Hastings also through.
