SUSSEX LEAGUE ROUND-UP: Jagota and Davies shine as Roffey stay top

Eastbourne batted first and were limited to 180-8 mainly thanks to Rohit Jagota’s 5-42. Dominic Shepheard top scored with 48 for Eastbourne.

In reply, Roffey were reduced to to 82-5 with Jacob Smith taking 4-67.

But Kuldeep Rawat (33*) and Matt Davies (75 from 45 balls) saw Roffey home.

Brighton triumphed over Hastings with a tight five run victory. Elliot Hooper (4-44) and Dan Doran (3-4 from 10 overs) helped reduce Brighton to 133 all out. But a great all round bowling display from Brighton saw Hastings dismissed for 128.

Nick Patterson (6-35) and Stefan Piloet (92 not out) were the stars as Cuckfield beat Three Bridges by five wickets.

Horsham scored 256 all out against Bexhill thanks to Craig Gallagher (102) and Ben Shoare (52) while Joe Cox 4-64 and Callum Guest 3-81 shone for Bexhill. Bexhill held on for the draw finishing 191-8. Cameron Burgon (69) and Malcolm Johnson (40) top-scored. Travis Muller took 5-28 for Horsham.

Preston Nomads got home by two wickets after East Grinstead set them 191 to win.

In division 2, Dhanushka Mitipolaarachchi scored 104 not out for Billingshurst as they beat St James Montefiore by 62 runs. Tim Weston took 4-21 for Billingshurst in St James’ reply.

Crowhurst Park beat Chichester by five wickets with Bradley Payne taking 7-48 for the winners, while Michael Rippon took 5-31 as Lindfield beat Findon by five wickets.

Ifield beat Goring by seven wickets with Clayton Caltsounis taking 6-47 for Ifield. And Middleton beat Worthing by five wickets.

In division three, Ansty enjoyed a 72 run win over Rottingdean, Burgess Hill beat Glynde by seven wickets, Bognorn beat Pagham by five wickets, Crawley Eagles won against Pulborough by four wickets and Isaac Leckie (98) and Ryan Brown (74*) led Haywards Heath to a four wicket win against Stirlands.

In division four, Hellingly bowled Slinfold out for just 45 but limped home by five wickets, Rajesh Maru took 7-33 as Wisborough Green beat Henfield by one wicket, Hassocks and Keymer drew with Lewes Priory, Portslade beat Steyning by five wickets and Rye beat Crawley by 83 runs wiith Harry Smeed taking 8-56.
