During the summer-league presentation night for the Bognor Benevolent Darts League, league secretary Doreen Hayler handed over three cheques to charities.

The first went to 4SIGHT, the West Sussex Association for the Blind. The charity was established in 1921 and improves the lives of more than 2,000 blind and partially sighted people in West Sussex.

Sarah Brookes from 4SIGHT accepted the cheque for £500.

The second went to the Friends of PICU, a charity run by volunteers who support the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital. They provide first-class care and treatment to more than 900 critically-ill children every year from all over the south of England.

Rob Misslebrook accepted the £500 on behalf of Friends of PICU.

The last cheque went to St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing. One of the league members, John Elliott from the Aldingbourne Social Club team, passed away peacefully in St Barnabas House in August.

John’s wife Val Elliott accepted the cheque of £500 from the league on behalf of St Barnabas.
