Darts players take aim at Pebsham

A FORMIDABLE line-up of 64 players from all over the south east corner congregated for the Laurie Allen Mixed Pairs and Winmau World Masters Sussex Play-offs at the New Pebsham Community Centre on Sunday.

And not only was there some top notch darts action on show but the club was celebrating as well having retained the rights to host Sussex's home Inter-Counties matches over the coming winter.

Sussex games have been played at the club since March and it is further recognition of the facilities provided. Their first home match of the new campaign will be against Welsh club Gwent on October 9-10.

The Mixed Pairs went the way of Bob Aldous and Donna Askey of Dartford, the ladies' singles was won by Littlehampton's Karen Winter and the two qualifiers for the Winmau Masters, which will be played in Durham later in the year, were Eastbourne pair Geoff Taylor and Matt Turnbull.
