Darts: Singles night is a knockout in Bognor

In division three 19 players took part. After No1 player Mick Delaney (BRSA B) was knocked out by Ben Lubbe (POW Woodgate), Lubbe lost to Joe Osman, also of BRSA B.

The first semi-final saw Osman beat Michelle Skeites (POW Woodgate) and a POW Woodgate ‘derby’ in which Chris Hills defeated Rachel Hall.

The final saw Osman and Hills take a leg each to set up a decider.

The last leg saw even throwing all the way with Osman finding double four to take the title.

In division two, there were 26 players stepping up to the oche.

The first semi-final saw Conner O’Hara (Chi Snooker ‘A’) go out to multiple division-three singles champion Bradley Marshall (BRSA Ravens).

The second featured Nick Hales (Claremont Wanderers) losing to former division one and two champion Gary Blackwood (Claremont).

Leg one of the final was taken by Blackwood in 17 darts, leg two went the same way in 18 darts – and Blackwood was the division-two champion.

In division one, there were 30 taking part.

The first semi-final saw last year’s champion Lee Franklin (POW ‘Z’) bow out to team-mate Rob Collins (QE2). After that Cliff Prior (POW ‘Z’) reached the final by beating Mark Sheppard (Hunston Club).

The final began with Prior hitting 123. After 15 darts each both players were on a finish. Eventually, Collins stepped up and took two darts to take the first leg.

Prior started the second leg with a 180, followed that with 99 and 95, then finished the leg with a 127 out-shot on the bullseye for a 12-dart leg.

In the decider, a 60 from Collins was toppled by Prior’s 140, leaving himself 100. Collins left himself with 120, but it was too late, Prior stepping up to the oche for treble 20 and double top to take the division-one singles crown.
