"Lewes won the league last year after getting off to an excellent start and we want to get into a winning run early on and keep it going throughout the season."

In Invitation League Division 3, East Preston went down to a 39-run defeat at Keymer & Hassocks after being bowled out for 125.

EP captain Simon Locke said: "After we'd won all our friendlies, including against a strong Littlehampton side, we came back down to earth with a bump on Saturday."
