FOOTBALL: Littlehampton lose at home to Storrington

LITTLEHAMPTON gifted Storrington all three points on Wednesday evening in their first home game of the season.

Golds had taken a second-minute lead when Jason Power flicked home Billy Rayner's corner.

But Swans equalised on 50 minutes when Littlehampton keeper Adam Broderick's goal kick went straight to Chris Chilvers, who fired home.

Then, with 13 minutes left, naive Littlehampton defending allowed Harry Abrahams to net Swans' winner.

Dave Schneider and substitute Danny Hand went closest to an equaliser.

Littlehampton assistant-manager Andy Baumfield said: "We were very poor, especially after we'd played so well at Sidlesham on Saturday.

"We probably deserved something out of it, but our performance was abysmal.

"We didn't get a grip of the game, despite taking the lead early on.

"A catastrophic mistake led to their equaliser, and then naive defending allowed them to get the winner."

LITTLEHAMPTON: Broderick; Simmonds, Young, Ward, Burgess; Peacock, Rayner, Towers, Brown; Power, Schneider. Subs: Cossins (Brown 15), Hand (Towers 70), Robertshaw, Wren, Kearns.
