Selsey remain sixth in Division 1 of the Southern Combination League after a 1-1 draw at home to Banstead Athletic.

Evan Harris got the goal for Daren Pearce’s team, who still have hopes of finishing in the top five to secure a play-off place. They face a game critical to those hopes on Tuesday night (April 9) when they go to Wick – who are fifth at present.

Boss Pearce said: “It was a pleasing performance which was sadly not topped off by taking all three points after dominating the game, especially the second half.

"A little more composure in the final third would have seen us add to our equaliser scored by Evan Harris and I'm sure we will play worse and win a game. But what was pleasing for us was that we dominated large parts of the game against another competitive and physical side.

"Our attention is focused on trying to get into the play-offs as again this will be a great achievement for the football club this season. There are some good sides in and around us but we will keep pushing to try to achieve our aim.”
