The game opened with Barnham battling hard and making it difficult for Summerley to play football. Summerley had a few half-chances, with Barnham countering and winning a couple of corners.

The deadlock was broken in the 25th minute when Yates played the ball to Kilhams, who went on an unstoppable solo run and found the net from just inside the area.

Summerley were starting to have more posession and Millard, showing good strength in the middle of the park, won the ball and moved down the right to set up Hand for the second.

Summerley went in 2-0 up.

Barnham came out looking the more committed team. Summerley had several more chances but the Barnham keeper was on superb form and thoroughly deserved his second-half clean sheet.
