The key dates from Andy Awford’s reign as Blues boss.
November 2013: Steps up from position as Academy boss to take caretaker charge for three games in the wake of Guy Whittingham’s departure before returning to his former role when Richie Barker is appointed.
March 2014: Takes on the post again when Barker departs and saves Pompey from relegation. Starts with a 2-1 win at Newport and a seven-match unbeaten run sees Pompey power away from League Two trouble, eventually finishing in 13th place.
May 2014: Appointed permanently on a 12-month rolling contract.
Summer 2014: Danny Hollands, James Dunne, Nigel Atangana, Craig Westcarr, Paul Jones and Michael Poke all sign. Loan signings Alex Wynter, Miles Storey and Paul Robinson also join.
August 2014: Starts the new League Two campaign with three wins out of the first four games to climb up to second place in the table.
September 2014: Early optimism wanes as Pompey manage just one win in eight League Two fixtures.
November 2014: Crashes out of the FA Cup in a first-round replay to non-league Aldershot. Then, after a 3-0 win over Morecambe, Pompey endure a nine-match winless run.
December 2014: Coach Alan McLoughlin leaves the club as Gary Waddock is brought in as assistant manager.
January 2015: Matt Tubbs and Paul Robinson sign on a permanent basis. Awford is apparently within a whisker of losing his job after discussions with the board.
February 2015: Four wins out of six earns Awford the manager-of-the-month award and reignites the club’s outside play-off ambitions.
March 2015: Just one win in six games ends any remaining play-off hopes.
April 2015: Leaves by mutual consent with club 14th in the League Two table.
