There are 16 teams taking part from across West Sussex and it is hoped the day will prove as successful as in previous years. There will be a barbecue and bar.

On Sunday, June 26, the stoolball club will hold their annual tournament with top teams from West Sussex taking part. The club hope people will come along to see how the game is played. Last year’s tournament was rained off so it is fingers crossed for this year as it provides essential funds for the club.

Saturday, July 9 will see another Players Reunited day with all the players both past and present of sport in the park, be it football stoolball or cricket, invited to come along and meet old friends.

If you have yet to come along to one of these events give it a try – organisers are sure you will find an old familiar face to recall past glories with. A barbecue and bar will run from 4pm and wives, husbands, and partners are all warmly welcome

Running alongside the Reunion Day will be a relaunch of Petworth Cricket Club. This is being organised by Alex Rees, who is keen to see cricket played in Petworth Park again. He wants the club to be family-orientated by providing cricket for youngsters as well as adults.

There will be further details in the coming weeks and if you are interested in helping to re-establish cricket in the park give Alex a call on 07776 184124.
