Bosham FC's youth policy bears fruit

Bosham FC have shown again how a well-organised youth set-upcan bring home the rewards at the end of the season.

The club’s youngsters have helped put the Reds on the map.

With three youth teams in action last season, the under-18 colts side, managed by Brian Randall, won their league title at the second time of asking with Jordan Evans bagging an impressive 30 goals along the way. The team were shortlisted for the prestigious Chichester & District Youth Sport team of the year award and thoroughly deserved the recognition for their outstanding efforts.

Frank Antony, meanwhile, marshalled a new look under-18 side and saw his team to a dramatic win on a superb night in the Invitation Cup final at Arundel FC, beating Worthing Rebels by a solitary goal. A strong finish in their division has set them up for the coming campaign and, hopefully, more trophies to come.

Henri Sabini, ably assisted by Jim French, has led the under-15 squad to a cup semi-final and a third-place league finish.

It was a mark of huge respect that other clubs in the division voted Bosham as the winners of the 2012 sportsmanship award, presented to Sabini at the Saywell Arun & Chichester Youth League annual meeting. They now make the step up to under-16 level.

Bosham have a growing admiration stretching far and wide with new interested parties contacting the club.
