The writing was on the wall as early as the second minute when a Neil Redman was the beneficiary of good work from strike partner Dave Storey.

Storey rose at the back post to head down into the path of Redman, who fired home.

Minutes later, the lead was doubled as Marco Giambelardini was in the right place at the right time to lash home after Hurstpierpoint failed to deal with a set-piece swung in from the right.

From the restart, Bosham surged forward again and Alex Barnes was on hand to flick the ball in at the near post after Giambelardini had used his skills to get to the by-line.

Bosham maintained control as the half wore on but chances were not as clear-cut as they had been. Keeper Martin Smith made some sterling saves to keep the hosts alive.

Tom Ward showed good pace down the right to keep Bosham on their toes but was unable to create meaningful chances for strikers Tim Ojo or Jamie West.

Things almost got worse for the hosts on the half-hour when Redman got through but saw his curling effort go just wide.

Close to half-time Bosham added a fourth through Giambelardini, who turned Levi Austin inside out before finding the bottom corner with an excellent effort.

Hurstpierpoint were much improved after the break as Bosham seemed to retreat into their shell.

With around ten minutes left, Hurstpierpoint finally got their deserved goal through substitute John Brazil.
