Bosham's big night is all about goalkeepers

Bosham FC keeper Kieran Magee was the stand-out winner at the club's presentation evening at Bosham Village Hall.

The 21-year-old first-team shot-stopper - who had only previously played Portsmouth local-league football - claimed both the players’ player and manager’s player awards for an outstanding campaign, which included 18 clean sheets.

It was perhaps fitting that the evening’s special guest - Pompey ambassador and former goalkeeper Alan Knight - was on hand to present Division 2 Cup winner Magee with his awards.

Alex Barnes was the first team’s top goalscorer with 13 strikes to his name in all competitions.

Sam James claimed the reserve-team manager’s player and top scorer accolades during the evening, which celebrated another successful season on-and-off the pitch at all levels.

There was also a welcome surprise for Alan Price, who was voted clubman of the year by his fellow committee members. The Robins’ chairman and secretary is normally excluded from winning in making the final decision himself, however introduction of a vote this year saw Price acknowledged.

Bosham officials thanked Knight for his continued support of the club in taking the time to attend and be their special guest.
