How did the Albion young guns rate?

Solid saves against Hourihane, Jota, Trezeguet and Davis to keep the scoreline down for his team. Came out confidently to punch corners clear. Not much he could do about the goals.
Tough night for the young full-back. Didn't do too much wrong but was up against an in form and tricky Villa attack. Two of the Villa goals came from his flank.
Provided experience in a young team. Beat for pace by Davis which led to the second Villa goal. Made a couple of strong attacking runs to get his team up. Night cut short due to injury.
Put in a mature man-of-the-match performance and got a goal to cap it off. Made two excellent last ditch blocks to stop Trezeguet and Davis' clear goal scoring opportunities.
Strong in the tackle. Held off the nippy Trezeguet in a one-v-one. Moved to centre-back in the second half and was switched on throughout. Solid
Struggled to make an impact out at wing-back. Didn't get a sniff due to Villas dominant midfield. Did provide a classic in swinging left footed cross to assist Roberts' goal.
Looked okay in patches early on on the ball and in the tackle. But Villas midfield harassed him and forced a few wayward passes. Looked frustrated.
Looked good on the ball... when he got it, which was rarely. The 17-year-old looks like he has potential but couldn't display it tonight. Subbed off.
The game passed him by at wing-back. Few stray touches and passes got the crowd on his back a couple of times. capable but too slow today and the event may have got to him a touch.
Great quick feet. When hes on form he looks like he can beat anyone, did it a few times in the firsthalf but faded out as the game went on. Rushed his play in parts.
Never stops running for his team. Unlucky to not bag a goal tonight after his 20-yard-strike came back off the underside of the bar. Didn't quite click for him tonight. Lacked service.
Struggled to make an impact coming off the bench. Good running down the channel. Lone striker, had little service.
Subbed on second half. Couldn't make an impact from midfield
Late replacement and little chance to make an impression
Hardly tested all night. Was beaten by Connolly's effort but was saved by the underside of his bar. Can blame his defence for letting Roberts head past him for the goal.
Assured veteran captain's performance. Composed on the ball, did the simple things and well. Will be disappointed not to get the clean sheet.
Broke the Brighton lines constantly. Sharp link up play going forward and causedd trouble for Albion defense and midfield. Quality assist for the Jota goal, squaring the ball back
Got forward as you'd expect. Wanted to affect the game and was part of an energetic Villa attack both in the press and going forward. Broke the lines along with Hourihane well.
Battled against Connolly well in the first half. Made a good interception in the box to stop a clear cut chance for Brighton. Partnered well with Hause.
Like his defensive partner he battled well with Connolly. Wasn't tested much by the young Brighton forwards. Did everything you'd expect your centre-back to do
Wasn't tested for most the night by the Brighton wing-backs. Didn't get forward much either. Business like evening for him.
Kept things ticking along in the middle of the park for Villa. Was assured in possession and looked a level above. Got stuck in the tackle and showed a wide range of passing. Looks a good signing for Villa.
Took his goal well, got his head over the ball and smashed home. Kept his composure in the final third and linked up well as part of a fluid Villa attack.
Held the ball up well. Left Duffy in his tracks to set up the second goal. Strong, direct and was a focal point for his team. Be disappointed not to get on the scoresheet
Looked lively from the off. Pace, hunger, drive, skill were all high quality. Looked a class above. Only part of performance missing was a goal.
Subbed on with 25 mins left to a chorus of "Superjacky Grealish" and lived up to the hype. Silky touches, oozed class and you knew his volley was going in before he hit it.
Late sub. Little chance to shine
